FutboLive — football streaming website

We built a football streaming website for FutboLive: matches that used to go out through Telegram now play right on the site, free, in one click and without extra links. After launch, the project began receiving advertising offers.

Challenge

FutboLive is an online project streaming football matches for fans. Its broadcasts used to be shared through Telegram, and viewers had to follow links to reach a game. Now the project has its own website where matches can be watched for free without extra redirects.

FutboLive's broadcasts used to live in Telegram. To watch a match, a fan had to find the right post in the feed, open a link and click through extra redirects before reaching the stream. For a football streaming website that chain is unacceptable: every additional step before kick-off costs viewers.

The channel remained someone else's platform. The project had no address or match schedule of its own, and viewers only learnt about a game when they happened to notice the next post among other messages.

Football is watched in peaks: most of the audience arrives a few minutes before the game starts. That is exactly when the page and the player have to open without delay, because if the stream starts slowly, a fan does not wait but goes looking for another broadcast.

The free format set its own rules: no registration, subscription or intermediate pages between the viewer and the game. And there was one more condition, a permanent address: fans had to find the streams in the same place every time instead of hunting for a fresh link before each game.

Solution

We gave FutboLive a website of its own where getting to a match takes one click. The stream plays right on the page with no external links or intermediate redirects, and a schedule shows upcoming games in advance so fans know when to come back.

A viewer opens the website, picks a match and lands straight in the player. Watching is free and needs no hunt for a fresh link, because the address never changes. When many people arrive at once just before kick-off, the stream still starts without delay.

The foundation is a lightweight player with a fast stream start, so playback begins almost as soon as the page opens. Together with the schedule and a permanent address, it turned FutboLive from a channel of links into a platform of its own that advertisers took an interest in after launch.

  1. Streams right on the website

Matches no longer have to be hunted down in a Telegram feed: the stream opens on the FutboLive page. There are no external links, third-party sites or redirects between a fan and the game, so reaching the broadcast takes a single click.

  2. Free viewing without barriers

Games can be watched for free. A viewer does not fill in forms or take out a subscription to get to a match: everything needed for watching is on the website itself, with no instructions or third-party services involved.

  3. A fast stream start

We connected a lightweight player that starts the stream quickly. The broadcast begins without delay even when lots of fans arrive on the website at the same time a few minutes before kick-off.

  4. A schedule of upcoming matches

The website has a schedule of upcoming games. Fans see in advance which matches will be shown and when the stream begins, so they come back to FutboLive for kick-off instead of searching for a broadcast at the last minute.

  5. One permanent address

Streams no longer depend on posts with links: every match is gathered on one website with a permanent address. A fan does not wait for a channel post or search for a fresh link, but simply opens FutboLive and finds the schedule and the broadcasts.

  6. A platform for advertisers

A website of its own became an asset for the project rather than just another distribution channel. After launch, FutboLive began receiving advertising offers, something that never happened while the streams lived in Telegram.
